About this chant
This Pali blessing opens with Bhavatu sabbamaṅgalaṁ, a wish for every blessing. Thai temple chanting books present three stanzas invoking the qualities of the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha in turn. This recording recites all three stanzas once.
Meaning: May every blessing be yours, may the devas protect you, and through the power of all the Buddhas, may you always be well. The next two stanzas repeat the wish through the power of the Dhamma and Sangha respectively.
When to use it: After homage, chanting or a good deed, to express goodwill towards family, friends or those present. Let the words accompany a sincere wish for their wellbeing, supported by care and practical help.
The pronoun te addresses another person. Each stanza changes its reference to the Triple Gem, so the three are not identical repetitions. Triple Gem Blessing is a descriptive English title; these are wishes, not a promise that all difficulties will disappear.
